Should society place a value on human life?

yes human life is worth as much as we make of it. The reason why animals are either worth so much or so little to us is because of emotional attachment or our willingness to care of. Same with people we care for them and for that reason their is a value to us. On the flip side people who to us have no value to us make us feel unattached or we do not care. Animals like chickens , their lives are worth nothing.
