Substitute for Ovenproof Dutch Oven?

well, the reason for that, is the heat travels up the sides. I will tell you I have used an oval enamel turkey roasting pan that has a lid AND have used a stainless steel pot with a lid. I just wrap the handles in foil. ( this was all before I got a dutch oven) It works fine. I have a really good recipe I and my family enjoys if you'd like it, let me know
