LCD tv best for live sport telecast?

I live in malaysia and I watch the satelite channel, ASTRO, mostly. I'm a sports buff and watch a lot of live telecast of sports like badminton, tennis, football. I was told it's better to get an LCD with faster response speed . Is this true? Also to malaysians out there, do you think I should go for LCD with Full HD, 50 HZ or HD Ready 100Hz ??
