I need tips on getting my 11mo old off the bottle.?

he is 11 months old, he doesn't eat baby food anymore but still takes a bottle. he doesn't have a pacifier either. i plan on taking his bottle when he is a year old but how can i slowly work with him until then? he has a sippy cup that he drinks out of, should i start putting the formula in there? advice please.
