Do your children see you read (books, not internet?)?

was just reading a diatribe last night about the decline of literacy and reading for pleasure and the end of civilization, etc. ... ok, i thought the guy was perhaps a little over the top but he's indisputably right that reading for pleasure is on the decline. most of us presumably read to our kids and/or encourage them to read. but do you also model reading as a fun activity that you enjoy yourself? do you think it matters?
