Do theists genuinely think that atheists dont already know their arguments?

i find that when theists ask me if i have ever seen a painting without a painter, or ask what happens when i die, they expect to be thought provoking, as if what they are blabbering about is new, original, intelligent, interesting, or profound. As if i have never heard the argument before, considered it, and rejected it for good reason.
